Interesting. It looks like the total 3rd party and independent vote for Senate this year surpassed the difference between the Dems and Reps.
The libertarian is inflated because of Arkansas.
Ricky Harrington, the sole opponent to Tom Cotton in Arkansas, got 399,390 votes. Even without him the LP is over a million which is a much higher percentage compared to the House races. COVID-19 and it’s various secondary effects almost certainly reduced the number of LP and other alternative candidates for House significantly but had less effect on the Senate races.
