At the November 2020 election, eleven states held gubernatorial elections. Here are the national totals for each party:

Progressive of Vermont 99,214
Green 28,543

Four years ago, in the same states, the national totals were: Republican 8,842,543; Democratic 8,303,331; Libertarian 347,699; Green 69,107; Independent of Oregon 47,481; Independent American of Utah 15,912; Liberty Union 8,912; Constitution 4,041.
More hours of math torture.
NONPARTISAN execs/judics via Approval Voting — pending Condorcet = RCV done right.
What are the national totals of each year 2017-19? That’s a trend to post.
Hank – it would be difficult to determine any trend from those years. There are only 5 Gubernatorial elections in odd years and those are split between the two 3-2. In Presidential years there are 11. There are 36 in mid-term years.
But, I can tell you that the LP has increased its Gubernatorial vote total in every Presidential year since 1980. It was 392,890 in 2016, 345,244 in 2012, 260,413 in 2008, 187,464 in 2004, 160,930 in 2000…
Large/small pop State guvs more LAWLESS monarchy / tyrannical ???
@ Hank:
Good point. Someone needs to help Richard create a web site that would show comparative stats over time.
ALL stats before latest election === useful ONLY for historians.
Olde stats —
Europe folks into N+S America 1492 onwards
Slaves forced into N+S America 1492 onwards.
N+S American Indians wiped out by above – war, disease, starvation, etc.
Etc.
First election stats
— in olde England – House of Commons [1200s]
— in olde Brit Am colonies – VA, MA, etc. [1600s]
— in early USA States [1775-1787]
Etc.
