Thirty-two Republican legislators in Arkansas have introduced HB 1338, which would raise the minor party petition for presidential status from 1,000 to 5,000 signatures. The bill also raises the independent presidential petition from 1,000 to 5,000.

This is no doubt in response to lots of presidential candidates qualifying for the ballot in Arkansas last year.

I fail to see how more choices is somehow a negative thing. In Indiana, we had only three candidates listed on the presidential ballot (luckily we allow write-ins, so I was able to vote), so Arkansas having 13 must have been pretty nice.
Hope this fails hard, but I don’t know if that’s likely, given the make-up of Arkansas’ state House and Senate.
A small step, but a good one. GOP power in Arkansas and nationally should be maximally consolidated. The Burmese military just did what the U.S. Military should and hopefully will do next.

I don’t know Eric but I agree with him. Even the fake news polls acknowledge that at least 100 million people realize the election was stolen. We do need a military takeover to guarantee a Republican Party form of government by, for and of Trump. In the meantime small steps like this in that direction are welcome.
