The U.S. Supreme Court will consider whether to hear Level the Playing Field v Federal Election Commission, 20-649, at its March 19 conference. This is the case, filed by the Libertarian and Green Parties, and others, over whether the FEC is failing to enforce federal campaign finance laws against the Commission on Presidential Debates.
Didn’t the court already rule on the issue of debate inclusion (1998?). Will the court really rule that the debate commission is violating a federal law?
Arkansas Educational Television Commission v. Forbes, 523 U.S. 666 (1998)
Not that the commission is violating a federal law, just that their expenditures should count as campaign contributions since they only allow the D&R candidates, even changing which polls count every election
