In foreign policy, it’s important to look at who or what benefits from a given situation. Israel having a military engagement with Palestine will almost always benefit Israel and particularly the leaders of Israel. Israelis are being told they are under attack. There are rockets flying their way. The American media, both left and Fox, reports it this way as well. The narrative is that Israel has a right to defend itself from the rocket attacks. But why are the rocket attacks happening in the first place?
In April, Netanyahu expanded Israeli settlements into the occupied West Bank. What this means is they go into a Palestinian village, evict the residents, tear down their homes, and build homes for Jewish people in their place. Of course this generates anger among the Palestinians and so they respond. Netanyahu knew they would. He knew this would increase the number of rocket attacks. So why did Netanyahu want a war?
The increase in the building of Jewish homes coincided with Netanyahu’s realization he did not have the support to form a coalition government and remain on as prime minister. Someone else would receive an opportunity. Then the unrest came about. So now it appears Netanyahu will remain in power as the scared populace coalesces behind him. They are grateful to Netanyahu for defending them from the “terrorists.” It’s good politics on Netanyahu’s side but at what expense? He’s sacrificing some of his own people since the Iron Dome is not a 100 percent protection. Plus, hundreds of Palestinians have been killed, many of them children. Is it worth it?
Part of leadership is knowing when to act. For example, President Trump, a truly great leader, knew it was not proportional to bomb Iran when his military advisers wanted him to after Iran attacked an American drone. If he was still president, Trump would’ve guided Netanyahu on the correct path. The primal political instinct to pursue death for political survival would not prevail.

In foreign policy, it’s important to look at who or what benefits from a given situation. Israel having a military engagement with Palestine will almost always benefit Israel and particularly the leaders of Israel. Israelis are being told they are under attack. There are rockets flying their way. The American media, both left and Fox, reports it this way as well. The narrative is that Israel has a right to defend itself from the rocket attacks. But why are the rocket attacks happening in the first place?
In April, Netanyahu expanded Israeli settlements into the occupied West Bank. What this means is they go into a Palestinian village, evict the residents, tear down their homes, and build homes for Jewish people in their place. Of course this generates anger among the Palestinians and so they respond. Netanyahu knew they would. He knew this would increase the number of rocket attacks. So why did Netanyahu want a war?
The increase in the building of Jewish homes coincided with Netanyahu’s realization he did not have the support to form a coalition government and remain on as prime minister. Someone else would receive an opportunity. Then the unrest came about. So now it appears Netanyahu will remain in power as the scared populace coalesces behind him. They are grateful to Netanyahu for defending them from the “terrorists.” It’s good politics on Netanyahu’s side but at what expense? He’s sacrificing some of his own people since the Iron Dome is not a 100 percent protection. Plus, hundreds of Palestinians have been killed, many of them children. Is it worth it?
Part of leadership is knowing when to act. For example, President Trump, a truly great leader, knew it was not proportional to bomb Iran when his military advisers wanted him to after Iran attacked an American drone. If he was still president, Trump would’ve guided Netanyahu on the correct path. The primal political instinct to pursue death for political survival would not prevail.

I would hope the jews would want to find refuge from the hatred and consequent violence they have brought upon themselves over the centuries. They have no homeland. They made the mistake of building one on someone else’s land.
Granted, Sinai is not prime real estate. But it is real. It is Earth. It could be cared for and cultivated. It has many things. For one thing, it is mentioned many times in the Bible. It borders Palestine. Perhaps visits, pilgrimages, archaeological research expeditions could be arranged. etc.
It has access to nearly unlimited water-salt water, but water nonetheless. Desalination plants could be built. A whole network of pipelines could be built.

It is someone else’s land, but that could be mitigated. Egypt and Israel have a Peace Treaty already in place. Perhaps that could be made use of in this unexpected way. And the indigenous Bedouins perhaps could be prevailed upon to help. They number about 400,000. They could be relocated, nearby.
