California is having a special election for Governor this year, combined with a vote on whether to recall Governor Gavin Newsom. The American Solidarity Party in the election will be James Hanink. The date of the election is still not set, but it will be in September, October, or November.
“Will ran candidate” really? That’s almost Demo Rep and Robert K Stock level of retardedness.
It should be noted that Hanink is officially running as a No Party Preference candidate since the ASP does not officially exist in California for the known reasons.
Another who will get lost in the shuffle.
It is good that the Libertarian Party actually has a pretty good candidate this time in elected Riverside County Supervisor Board member, Jeff Hewitt, unlike the 2003 Recall Gray Davis election, which the Libertarian Party of California completely screwed up. Back in 2003, the officially endorsed LP of CA candidate for Governor was this oddball that nobody ever heard of who owned a small chain of tobacco stores, and his biggest issue was repealing taxes on cigarettes, which, although I agree with it in spirit since I do not really support any taxes, was a really dumb issue on which to make the biggest issue of one’s campaign. There was a picture of him on his website standing in front of one of his tobacco stores while holding a pack of cigarettes, and I recall there being a sign that said, “CHEAP SMOKES,” or something like then. There were also two other oddballs that nobody ever heard of who ran as Libertarian Party candidates for Governor in that Recall Gray Davis election, who were not officially endorsed by the LP of CA. I think Jeff Hewitt will be a better candidate than any of those oddballs were, and hopefully nobody else enters the race using the Libertarian Party label.
SANE states- Lt Gov is [acting] governor for rest of term.
Nonpartisan APPV – execs/judics.

BUT — CA gerrymander / hack regime – full of commie insane stuff.
Andy, thanks for reminding us about that history of LP candidates for Governor in that previous recall election. I agree that Jeff Hewitt is an impressive candidate.
The first commentater sounds like he needs high pressure hydrocolonic therapy. Getting that worked up over a tiny typo can’t possibly be healthy.
