Vermont Recognizes Five Political Parties for 2022 Elections

The Vermont Secretary of State’s website has this list of qualified parties: Democratic, Republican, Progressive, Libertarian, and Green Mountain Peace & Justice. The latter party is actually the Liberty Union Party, with a new name.

The Working Families Party is no longer qualified in Vermont.

New stories say the Libertarian Party is running Ericka Redic for U.S. House. She is the first Libertarian to run for Vermont’s U.S. House seat since 2002.

Vermont Recognizes Five Political Parties for 2022 Elections — 4 Comments

  1. Seems like an attempt by the Liberty Union party to confuse Green Party voters. Not that it matters, since their policies are so similar.

  2. @Jim…. Or maybe they intend to affiliate. Vermont doesn’t have a state Green Party. They did in the early 2000s but dissolved into the Progressive Party and Democratic Party after an internal rift.

  3. Glad to hear that the Libertarian Party may run a candidate for US Representative.

  4. Glad to hear that the Republican Party remains recognized and active in the Green Puke Socialist People’s Republic of Vermont in 2022.
