On September 8, the Michigan Supreme Court ordered the State Canvassing Board to place an initiative on the ballot, even though the petition description of the measure (abortion) had virtually invisible spaces between the words. The vote is 5-2. Here is the order in Reproductive Freedom for All v Board of State Canvassers, SC 164760. Thanks to How Appealing for the link.
That said, two of the canvassing board were looking for any reason to block this, it seems.
I otherwise quote from the ruling:
“The “full text” of the amendment is present: regardless of the existence or extent of the spacing, all of the words remain and they remain in the same order, and it is not disputed that they are printed in 8-point type. In this case, the meaning of the words has not changed by the alleged insufficient spacing between them.”
Fargo Forum has a good article on the LMN party candidate running for Congress in the MN 7th CD.
