Why? Why not just require that all Constitutional Amendments be put on the General Election ballot? It serves the same purpose. This is just performative nonsense.

Not bad. Constitutional amendment should be a difficult, arduous, multistep process giving voters time to cool off as well as giving more influence to the best people who matter most: GOP Primary voters who are loyal to TRUMP and skewed towards every demographic that likes Trump and GOP MOST. I agree that constitutional amendments should be difficult, but there’s a reason why primaries and general elections have different rules.
The primary is for parties to select their nominees, not for the general public to vote on policy.
NH requires amendments to pass both House and Senate with 3/5 votes, and then pass the general election with 2/3 majority.
This is adequate to keep the constitution from being frivolously amended. Other states without ballot initiatives (like Texas) use the amendment process as a referendum.
Constitutional amendments on any level should never be passed with a simple majority. Without a super majority of some sort required for constitutional changes, a constitution is no more powerful than any other statue law.

Laws should be constant. No constitution (unless that’s what you call the law, as it should be much shorter than your constitution), no amendments, no petitions. No jerry mamsers or hacks. What is the problem???
