On June 27, the California legislature passed SB 437. It requires qualified parties to notify the Secretary of State of the names of their presidential and vice-presidential nominees, no later than 75 days before the general election.
Two Democratic Assemblymembers, Lori Wilson and Rick Zbur, voted “no.”
It is odd that many states, including California under current law, have no deadline in their election laws for qualified parties to submit the names.

Perhaps if a party doesn’t submit its slate of electors by the deadline, those electors should be considered unpledged, and free to vote for whomever they please.
I’ve pointed out the problems with too many people voting and with government at all levels being too big and trying to do too many things enough times. I’ve also explained the downsides of nonpartisan elections enough times. If anyone who doesn’t think the US is currently a monarchy, understands there are many vast differences between Donald Trump and Adolf Hitler, and understands that every human alive, themselves included, has made many more significant errors than merely typographical many times would like additional repetition, I can explain those things again.
That would of course exclude AZZ. Unlike AZZ pronouncements from Mt Olympus (or from deep inside his sphincter – the latter being a far more plausible scenario), I have actual reasons for these stances which I’ve stated and offered up for discussion quite a few times. However, that doesn’t mean I want to keep doing so endlessly. If reasonable people want to discuss the reasoning and relative merits, I can do that. If the only person joining the “discussion” thinks rote repetition, yelling, and insisting he’s right about everything and disagreeing or questioning makes someone a “troll moron,” there’s no discussion to be had and no point in trying.
Ironically, enfranchising too many poorly educated, poorly informed, easily manipulated voters actually concentrates real power in the hands of a tiny globalist elite that is probably more like one in a million humans, rather than one in a thousand. More importantly still, giving government too many tasks and having it cover too many people in too much territory ensures terrible outcomes. As does giving too much power to a fickle mob, as discussed at length by your nation’s founding patriarchs.
