Libertarian Party 2023 Petition Drives Update

The Libertarian Party Ballot Access Committee held a meeting on the evening of Tuesday, July 11, 2023. The LP currently has presidential ticket ballot access in 34 states and is seeking to place its 2024 presidential ticket on the ballot in as many states as possible.

Here is information on ongoing and upcoming petition drives:

Arkansas: 10,000 valid signatures needed by February 13, 2024. Currently the LPAR has 8,905 signatures, with a test validity rate of 79.1%, so there are an estimated 7,044 valid signatures collected to date.

North Dakota: 7,000 valid signatures needed by April 2024. The LPND petition drive is just starting. No firm numbers yet, other than the State Chair has 100. North Dakota is the only state without voter registration, so the signature validity rate is usually very high there.

Ohio: The LP will be pursuing an Independent presidential petition needing 5,000 valid signatures instead of a party petition that would require 40,345 valid signatures. Stand-in candidates are allowed on the petition, so the petition can start now. Almost all presidential electors have been selected, and the petition will start ASAP after that process is completed.

Kentucky: A 5,000 valid signature petition drive will likely start in November 2023, with a deadline of early September 2024.

  1. ANY LP LEADER CAPABLE OF NOTING ***EQUAL*** IN 14-1 AMDT ???

TO END HAVING ENDLESS COURT CASES AND STATEWIDE PETITION DRIVES ???

  2. Blah blah blah….losing pro se lawsuits half century ago laughed out of court…dank Detroit basement…A-Z anus zombie…just like a regular zombie, except zombies eat brains, and A-Zs, well you know…

  3. Iowa, Wisconsin and Minnesota do not require petition signers to be registered to vote, they just have to be eligible to vote.

  4. Average validity rates on petitions in these states tend to be the highest in the country, but incompetent and/or unethical petition circulators can come in with low validity signatures even in these states just as they can anywhere else.

  5. HOW MANY OF THE BAN TROLL MORONS HAVE WON A BALLOT ACCESS CASE ???

ESP FOR THE “TROLL MORONS PARTY” ???

  6. He did. They were pro se, and got laughed out of court about half a century ago. Since then, he’s been in a dank Detroit basement. It all started with such promise when he was a young man storming the beaches of France and dreaming of a skiing vacation in the Swiss Alps. Then he founded the Troll Morons Party and filed scores of pro se lawsuits for ballot access in the 1950s, 60s and 70s. Law school was too expensive, even with the GI bill. He began to subsist on cat food, and turned into an anus zombie.

  7. THERE ARE 94 US MARSHALS AND 3953 DEPUTY MARSHALS AND CRIMINAL INVESTIGATORS. THE 94 MARSHALS ARE CURRENTLY SERVING IN 94 FEDERAL JUDICIAL GERRYMANDERS. EACH OF THOSE GERRYMANDERS ALSO HAS A US ATTORNEY, CHIEF DEPUTY US MARSHAL, AND SOME HAVE ASSISTANT CHIEF DEPUTY US MARSHALS.

AZ PLAN FOR ELECTING ALL THESE FOLKS??? WITHOUT GERRYMANDERING???

  8. ATTN TROLL MORONS—

USA JUDICIAL DISTS FOR EXEC LAW ENFORCEMENT AND JUDICIAL CASES — NOT LEGISLATORS

LIKELY MORE DISTS — METRO AREAS- MIDDLE POP AREAS – LOW POP AREAS — BORDER AREAS.

  9. EXECS / JUDICS = NONPARTISAN

    PARTISAN GERRYMANDERS CAN NOT HAPPEN.

SAME TROLL MORON IN HOW MANY POSTS WITH ITS M-A-N-Y FAKE NAMES ???

  10. 1) Arkansas has some really good petition circulators working, and the vast majority of the work is being done by actual Libertarian activists (paid and volunteer).

    2) The last time I checked, which was a few years ago, around 62.3% of the population of Arkansas is registered to vote, which is higher than some states but lower than some other states. Minor party ballot access petitions and petitions for statewide independent candidates do not have to be seperated by county as some states require (they did prior to 2007, but the requirement to seperate counties was eliminated in 2007). So signatures can’t be disqualified because somebody signed the wrong county page. Arkansas petitions also ask for date of birth in addition to city/town and street address. Some states ask for date of birth on petitions but others do not. Asking for date of birth and street address gives election clerks two ways to find a person on the voter rolls in order to validate a signature. So either date of birth or street address can be used to find a person on the voter rolls and determine whether or not the signature is valid. This can help bump up validity rates.

  11. JUST BECAUSE PARTY NAMES DON’T GET PRINTED ON SOME BALLOTS DOESN’T MEAN PARTIES NO LONGER EXIST. THERE CAN STILL BE PARTISAN GERRYMANDERS EVEN WITHOUT PARTY NAMES PRINTED ON THE BALLOT. US FEDERAL JUDICIAL DISTRICTS FOLLOW STATE LINES, AND AZ SAYS EVEN STATES ARE GERRYMANDERS. SOME STATES GET DIVIDED INTO 2, 3, OR 4. SOMETIMES THEY GET RECOMBINED. PARTS OF IDAHO AND MONTANA ARE IN THE WYOMING FEDERAL JUDICIAL DISTRICT. AZ SCHEME HAS NO WAY TO PREVENT GERRYMANDERS ????????????????

  12. If people get paid, doesn’t that make them mercenaries instead of activists? I always thought activist meant volunteers.

Deep partisanship will be on display as Congress releases competing voting bills
Stephen Groves and Christina A. Cassidy Associated Press

Atlanta – Congress in the coming weeks will consider shoring up voting and election laws – efforts that will reflect the vast gulf between Democrats and Republicans on protecting a foundation of American democracy.
The parties will unveil separate and competing proposals that will have little chance of success in a divided government, but are likely to be used to rally supporters ahead of the 2024 elections.
House Republicans on Monday released a proposal that would tighten voting laws and take a defiant stand against concerns that laws passed in recent years by GOP-controlled state legislatures disadvantage some voters. Democrats, meanwhile, are preparing to reintroduce their own proposals to set federal voting standards and restore protections under the Voting Rights Act.

Which gang rigs election results the best/worst ???

  14. EVERY SUBDIVISION LINE HAS GERRYMANDER EFFECTS —-
    NATION-STATES
    STATES
    COUNTIES
    LOCALS
    PRECINCTS

PLUS ALL DISTRICTS FOR WHATEVER PURPOSE.

LEGIS DIST GERRYMANDERS ARE THE MAIN PROBLEM N-O-W
    1/2 X 1/2 = 1/4

SORRY- AT LARGE ELECTIONS IN LARGER SIZE LEGIS BODIES AIN’T GOING TO HAPPEN [YET]

PERHAPS AFTER TOTAL COMPUTERS AND HOME VOTING –

SEE A NAME [ON A LIST OF THOUSANDS / MILLIONS / BILLIONS ] – VOTE THAT NAME.

    GOOD LUCK FOR WRITE-INS / TYPE-INS

  15. Which gang? Demon rats, obviously, rig way more.it’s not close, either.

  16. AZ IS FOR WORLD GOVERNMENT??? NOT LOYAL AMERICAN??? NO SOLUTIONS, JUST SHIFTING PROBLEMS???

  17. If a person believes in what they are doing they can be a paid activist.

A person who does not really believe in what they are doing and who does not really care about a cause and is solely out for money is a mercenary.

  18. Another FAKE NEWS article posted by AZ. Seriously man give it up. Get a hobby. Enjoy life.

  19. YOU KNOW AZ IS HOISTED BY HIS OWN PICARD WHEN HE GOES NONSEQUITUR, AND WHEN AZ GOES NON SEQUITUR, HE USUALLY GOES TO RUSSIA !!!
