Maine House Passes National Popular Vote Plan Bill

On March 5, the Maine House passed LD 1578, the National Popular Vote Plan bill, by 74-67. This is the first National Ppoular Vote Plan bill that has advanced in any state during 2024. The bill had been pending in the Maine legislature since early 2023.

    ONE MORE REASON TO ABOLISH THE MINORITY RULE EC.

  2. I don’t know why. The method they use now is actually better than NPV.

  3. Many states now don’t count absentee votes for President if it doesn’t affect the outcome in that state. Is there any requirement in the NPV for participating states to count all absentee votes?
