No Labels Apparently No Longer Aiming for 50 State Ballot Access for its Potential Presidential Ticket

From Politico’s Playbook newsletter from earlier today:

SPOILER ALERT — At a pivotal virtual meeting tomorrow, No Labels members are expected to vote to jump into the presidential race — though the group won’t yet select its ticket, AP’s Thomas Beaumont and Steve Peoples report.

Strategy shift?: Notably, No Labels is no longer saying they’re trying to get on the ballot in all 50 states, as they’ve long touted as their ambition for 2024 (and which No Labels still currently says on their website), Daniel Lippman writes in. In an op-ed in the Dallas Morning News last week, No Labels honcho NANCY JACOBSON wrote, “We have a strategy to get on the majority of state ballots for an independent presidential ticket.” A No Labels spokesperson didn’t respond to a request for comment on the change.

Thanks to Politico and politicalwire.com for the heads up!

No Labels Apparently No Longer Aiming for 50 State Ballot Access for its Potential Presidential Ticket — 30 Comments

  1. Oh my God you fucking retard. You’ve been told time after time Brown has nothing to do with this. Are you really this fucking stupid?

  2. Bots aren’t retards or stupid. You can tell them the same thing any number of times, even infinite, and they’ll still generate the same programmed responses. That’s one of the ways we know Az is a bot

  3. HOW MANY BIDEN/TRUMP BAN TROLL MORONS ARE BOTS ???

OR MERE PARTY HACK SLUGS ASSIGNED TO WATCH BAN FOR B.A. NEWS ABOUT 3RDS/INDEES ???

  4. I thought this was the original plan – get as many states as they could and the rest would fall on the candidate that they selected.

  5. I’M RUNNING DOWN WOODWARD AVENUE NAKED!!! I’M RUNNING DOWN WOODWARD AVENUE NAKED!!! WOOPIDEEDOO DOOO OOOOHH WHEEE WHEEEE!!!

  6. It is possible that their presidential ticket could shell out money for ballot access drives in places where their national committee is not going to do it.

  7. I don’t think Nancy Jacobson meant to say they will skip any states. It’s just that they can’t do states which nave no party petition. In those states, the only route to ballot access is with a candidate petition. And No Labels won’t do any of those petitions, because if they did they would need to disclose their donors.

  8. There was an article not too long ago about them doing just that – running “favorite son” (i.e. RINO) local candidates on a state-by state basis rather than a national nominee in an attempt to peel votes from Trump in swing states. Diabolical. I wouldn’t put it past them.

  9. Rhinos are already leaning Biden. A lot of former working class Democrats are starting to lean Trump or not voting. A rhino no lube candidate will help Trump, not Biden.

  10. Richard Winger above got it right on the Nancy Quote.

I don’t remember the exact number they are on today but No Labels said they would qualify for 38 states.
The Presidential candidate would handle the remaining 12.

  11. I made a typo above.

No Labels will qualify on 36 states. The candidate will file on the remaining 14 plus DC

  12. Convention is on Friday where 800 delegates will choose to continue and if yes vote on president. Might be a few more days before announcement as President will then have to submit VP to delegates

  13. It seems logical to me that No Labels should endorse Robert F. Kennedy, Jr.

  14. Their only reason for running is that they want to swing the election to Joe Biden (or whoever the Democrats go with if they replace Joe Biden).

  15. I’ll stand by my belief there will be no candidates unless and until proven wrong. I know Kennedy is definitely not their type.
