  1. I’m sort of surprised that the Libertarian percentage is as low as it is. I’d think that a place like Wyoming would be a decent place for Libertarian thought to arise.

  2. They generally register as Republicans, since the Republican primary may as well be the general election, with rare exceptions. That’s why over 80% are Republicans. Many of them would not be Republicans if they lived in a state that was less heavily Republican. Libertarians did come very close to winning a legislative seat or two there recently, though.

I think they also weren’t a recognized party until fairly recently. If I’m right, the state may have switched their registrations to independent whenever they were unrecognized.

  3. COMMIE DONKEYS HUNTED DOWN AND WIPED OUT IF THEY CAN FIND A SAFE CAVE IN THE MANY WY MOUNTAINS ???

WY – LOWEST POP STATE FOR HOW MANY YEARS ???

  4. Corrections: The Wyoming LP has had ballot access in every election cycle for at least the last 20 years. A Libertarian won a single election to a state house seat a few years ago because there was no GOP candidate on the ballot. Two years later the GOP took back the seat. AFAIK, the Libertarian who won that one time is the only Libertarian to win a state legislature seat since last century.

  5. Thanks Don Wills for remembering the Libertarian legislator. During the 2020 elections Marshall Burt was elected to the Wyoming House of Representatives from the 39th district, becoming the fifth Libertarian elected to a state legislature and the first since 2002. He formed the Libertarian Caucus on February 16, 2022. Burt lost re-election to Republican Cody Wylie in 2022. I was glad to contribute to his campaigns and admire his interest, energy and efforts.

  6. HIGHEST $$$/EGO BIDDER GETS TO BE TRUMP’S HACK VP ???

    PERHAPS A RUSSIA/RED CHINA DEEP STATE PLANT/MOLE ???

  7. George – it was 2000, not 2002. But, there have been a couple dozen Libertarian-major party cross endorsed candidates elected between 2014 and 2022 in Oregon and New York.
