Today this essay by Rob Richie was published urging Ranked Choice Voting to be employed at the Democratic National Convention should Joe Biden remove himself from consideration for the Democratic Party’s presidential nomination. He also writes that RCV should be used in polls and primaries and for internal Congressional elections in future years.

Sure, why not. If you don’t like RCV just don’t cast more than one vote. All the “strategic voting” and “lesser of two evils” proponents, the Never-Trumpers and the spineless “Trump isn’t perfect but he’s the best option that stands any chance of winning” maggots, should logically be huge fans of RCV.
Nope. It just makes it easier to cheat, confuses voters, and helps elect commie scum.
Does it actually though? Like is there any evidence or reason to believe that?
The only example I’ve seen given is that Alaska had some commie elected after they introduced RCV, without any attempt to argue how RCV was responsible for or conducive to that specific case, let alone that it was indicative of a broader more fundamental truth.
Anything that makes voting and especially vote counting more complicated makes it easier to cheat. That makes it easier for commies to win, since they do the vast majority of the cheating.Simple.
Without getting into defining who all are commies, naturally I agree with the latter half. But I’m not sure that the first half is quite so simple: RCV makes counting more complicated, and so presumably it also makes noticing and exposing cheating going on more complicated, but it would also make the cheating itself more complicated.
For example, RCV would be quite easy to accidentally elect the wrong candidate while trying to make both the ballots look believably diverse and yet make the distribution of votes seem sufficiently realistic. The amount of effort required to cheat securely and skillfully, perhaps might even make RCV less attractive for election fraud.
Counting is by far the most important issue.
So it’s a bit more work for the tellers ¯\_(ツ)_/¯ The US is already ridiculously slow with counting ballots – presumably to ensure plenty of opportunity for cheating. Make RCV no less slow than the current results, and they won’t even have time to cheat.
The Libertarian Party nominated its presidential nominee in a single day with multiple ballots.
France held its runoff 7 days after the first round, using paper ballots and entirely in person voting.
Mary Peltola was endorsed by Don Young’s daughters, and had campaigned with Young before she was born. Like Young she was from the interior.
Sarah Palin, Wasilla Barbie, had quit her previous government position, and her campaign discouraged expressing a second choice on the RCV ballot. This probably resulted in more Begich voters also skipping her.

Scotland uses OCR for its local elections (STV).
A bit more work for tellers = more opportunity to cheat. More work = more time = more opportunity to cheat.
There’s also the fuckery on the voter manipulation end. Manipulate some people into ranking, others into voting for only their top choice, etc, to achieve desired results. Not all factions are equally disciplined or sophisticated. Commies are generally better at organization and manipulation behind the scenes. Those working to oppose them are more likely to take things at face value.

My idea for electoral reform for presidential elections
1) first round: 8 candidates in each state, voters get 4 votes, none of the above option on the ballot, top 4 candidates in each state qualify for second round
2) second round: top 4 candidates in each state, voters get 2 votes, top 2 in each state qualify for final round
3) final round: top 2 candidates in each state, voters get 1 vote, we have a winner
States should make their own decisions.
Standing count would be best.
