Veteran Times-Union Columnist Criticizes Democrats for Trying to Keep Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. Off Ballot

Chris Churchill, who has been a 3-times per week columnist at the Albany Times-Union since 2012, has this column about the Democratic Party’s efforts to keep Robert F. Kennedy, Jr., off the New York ballot.  The Albany Times-Union is the daily newspaper for New York’s capital city, and is the location of the state court that is weighing the challenge.

The column may be behind a pay wall,, but it says, “The RFK Jr. lawsuit is really about disenfranchising voters…The Democratic-aligned group doesn’t really care where he lives.  It just wants to rob New Yorkers of choice.”  It also points out that according to the most recent poll for the presidential election in New York state, 7% of voters want to vote for Kennedy.

  1. Sometimes, a false spoiler choice has to be removed – like poison sold as food or medicine on store shelves – to preserve our ability to make choices in the future. If the spoiler enables the magats, there won’t be any choices except armed resistance or terrorized submission to a tyrannical fascist dictatorship with a cult of personality fuehrer.

  2. Keeping people from voting freely for the candidate of their choice is an element of dictatorship. It’s the same thinking that caused the U.S. government to put Japanese ancestry people on the west coast in concentration camps. “we have to”. Two wrongs don’t make a right.

It’s the same thinking that caused the George W. Bush administration to torture our prisoners. “we have to.”

  3. By the same logic, arsenic labeled as ginger ale should be on grocery store shelves..People should have the right to buy it and drink it, even if that means they don’t get to make any other choices again.

  5. Keeping voters from having the “wrong” choices on the ballot is the sole motive of the duopoly in passing ballot access censorship laws. Any candidate the ruling elite doubts they can control is “a spoiler” for the regime.

  7. D. Frank Robinson, wrong choices exist, like murder and rape and theft. All of those are choices. They are not involuntary actions. The people who make these choices have the choice to make other choices.

It would be wrong for society to allow them to make these choices without consequences, because their choices take away choices from other people.

Likewise, mickey mouse parties and candidates do nothing except elect the fascist psychopath magats who would commit choices like murder, rape, and theft on a mass scale through a tyrannical fascist dictatorship that will do away with elections or make them a joke.

Therefore, it would be wrong for society to not remove the mickey mouse officeseekeers who have no chance of actually winning from ballots. It would be even better to take the magats off the ballots, but unfortunately we don’t have the collective political will to do that yet.

  10. People own their own votes, and are entitled to vote for whom they please. Names printed on ballots should be considered merely advisory, and voters should always retain the right to cast a write-in vote.

All qualified parties should be able to place the names of their candidates on the ballot with or without primaries or nomination papers, as they choose. Under Eu v San Francisco, parties should be considered to own their own lines on the ballot, and should be able to control who can or cannot run on them, to include whether or not they might be fusion or “sore-loser” candidates.

If major parties fear that they might lose elections because so-called “spoiler” candidates allegedly “take” their votes under plurality voting, then they have two options:

1 Run better candidates with wider appeal. or

    2. Support run-off, or alternative voting methods to minimize the impact of so-called “spoilers.”
