On August 27, the Oregon Secretary of State said the We the People Party has enough valid signatures. It will be on the ballot in both 2024 and 2026, assuming it has registration of one-fourth of 1% by 2026. It is expected to nominate Robert F. Kennedy, Jr. for president. See this story.
It would make more sense for RFK Jr. to run in 2028 as a Republican. If Trump wins the Presidency he should name him in his cabinet. Not as Defense Minister as it should be Tulsi Gabbard who expressed interest in the position and had experience nor as Foreign Minister as it should be either De Santis or Haley as the latter has foreign affairs experience at federal level.
We the People without RFK is nothing and should consider merging with another centrist group like Forward Party which is gobbling up many minor parties.
Some polls have Oregon as only leaning towards the Democrats. It will be interesting to see if Trump can get within 5% of Kamala. Project “Greater Idaho” is still in effect.
Why did they do a party petition in Oregon, which requires 27,000 valid signatures, when they could have done an independent candidate petition, which requires 23,000 signatures, or a one day assembly of 1,000 registered voters, to place RFK Jr. on the ballot for President?
It seems like a waste of campaign resources to me.
Here in the United States, we call cabinet members of Secretaries, not Ministers.

The US should introduce the concept of shadow cabinets. They’re a good way of scrutinizing government departments while in opposition. And it might even incentivize diversifying the duopoly by coming up with alternative solutions; and make it more explicitly clear when one have of the uniparty is plagiarizing from the other.
