Economics Professor Darren Grant has a new article in Social Science Quarterly, December 2024, titled “Prevailing Party Laws & General Election Outcomes.” It finds that the order of candidates influences voting behavior, and estimates that 2% of the voters are influenced by ballot order. Here is a link to a description of his paper.

He has written about ballot order before, including a 2017 article, “The Ballot Order Effect is Huge: Evidence from Texas.”

  1. Ballots don’t need to list candidates in any order. A write-in only ballot is candidate neutral. End the censorship by ballot access laws that dictate which candidates are allowed on the ballot and which are not, in any order.

  2. BALLOT ORDER

    HALF A TO Z
    HALF Z TO A
    ROTATE FIRST/LAST LETTERS
    —-
How many cards would change names to be at top ???

  3. HOW MANY STATES HAVE RANDOM PICKS FOR TOP LETTER ???

ANY LAST SECOND NAME CHANGES TO BE AT TOP ???
