Arkansas Legislature Passes Bill Requiring Initiative Petitioners to Tell Each Potential Signer that Petition Fraud is a Criminal Offense

On February 26, the Arkansas legislature passed SB 207. It says that an initiative circulator must tell everyone approached that petition fraud is a criminal offense. Here is the text. If the circulator does not follow this law, the circulator is guilty of a misdemeanor.

  1. They should be required to tell signers that the petitions are fraud and signing them is a criminal offence.

  2. I agree. Even though it’s getting ahead of overdue changes in the law, just making them say it will keep too many people from signing these confounded demonic writs.
