Pastor of One of Kansas’ Largest Churches May Run for U.S. Senate as an Independent

On February 27, Rev. Adam Hamilton said that he is considering becoming an independent candidate for U.S. Senate from Kansas this year. See this story. Hamilton’s church, a United Methodist Church, has 22,000 members. Hamilton is the author of over 50 books.

  1. Having listened to a couple of his sermons back during the United Methodist Church split, I don’t see how he is different than the type of Democrat likely to be nominated in Kansas. He might think he is more likely to attract conservative voters because he has conservatives left in his own congregation, but that’s not going to translate across the state. It’s going to split the Democratic vote.

  2. The Democrat commie won’t run and endorse the “independent” commie. They’re trying the Utah/Nebraska plan which thankfully failed.
