  1. Even in the unlikely event that newspaper isn’t fake news, the chances that they would publicly reveal what they are really thinking is on the home side of slim to none.

  2. Hopefully, the Californians will learn of their mistake and do away with “Top Two.”

  3. You can hope in one hand …

    …. In the other ….

    And see which one fills up first

  4. There’s no realistic hope for any positive electoral change in California with anything like its present population and demographic trends.

    Top two or no top two,they are screwed.

    Speaking as a former resident thereof:

    The best hope we might realistically have is for enough people with Dollars and or sense to leave the state, and kick what remains out of the Union before they drag the whole thing down to a third world level or lower;

    To dissolve the union altogether;

    For its coastal areas to slide under the adjacent tectonic plate of the Pacific ocean;

    For massive portions of its population to be disenfranchised, deported, and or to die off along with all offspring somehow;

    The rapture, victory of the forces of good at the battle of Armageddon, etc, depending on your beliefs;

    Etc – changes of that level .

    Not some tweaks to its electoral system…

    Oregon being a case in point, Oregon Bob. Situated as it is between the Top Two top two states to its north and south, is it any less infected with the progressive political cancer than that are?

    I’d venture it isn’t.

    In fact, it’s so bad that the sane portions of the state would rather secede and join a Greater Idaho, while some in the South of the state might prefer to join a State of Jefferson were it somehow allowed to secede from California – but both are pipe dreams.

    The politicians in Sacramento and Eugene and the coastal elites and underclasses which dominate those political establishments won’t let them secede , and neither will the ones in DC. It would take both for the secessions to be allowed.

    Which means they won’t be.

    Thus, secession must for now be on the individual level, which means moving quite a ways away for most folks – something most people can’t or won’t do for a variety of reasons.
