New York Independent Voters File Federal Lawsuit Against New York’s Closed Primaries

On October 1, two New York independent voters filed a federal lawsuit arguing that the state’s closed primary system violates the voting rights of independent voters. Rieckhoff v Berger, s.d., 1:26cv-8655. No judge has been assigned to the case yet. Here is the Complaint.

  1. Governments have no legitimate business running or interfering in party nomination processes. The chain of successive idiocy that led to such absolute insanity started with government printing ballots, or, more fundamentally, with written or printed ballots as opposed to voice votes.

  2. They are spending good money they could be using to help finance their move to Florida instead.
