As with LPNH, being anything approaching an actual libertarian leads in short enough order to disavowal and disaffiliation by the disgraceful party which has long hijacked the libertarian name. The Mises caucus was a wholly inadequate response to the real party takeover, which predictably came from the extreme far left.
If the LP wasn’t an intentional insult to its own name, someone like Anthony Hudson or Jeremy Kauffman would be it’s national chairman. Angela McArdle was the closest they were lucky enough to ever have, so of course they are now busy suing her.
Bring sued, disavowed, disaffiliated etc by this bad joke of a party is the surest sign that someone is a true hero and champion of liberty.
@Andy… If it weren’t for a number of Democrats and Republicans dropping from the House election then yes. But as Richard pointed out McDermott made it through because of the drop outs despite originally coming in something like eight place. They were eliminated in every other election though.

The Green Party had it 2000 through the present. The Constitution Party had it 1996-2008. The New Alliance Party had it 1984-1992. The Greenback Party had it 1876-1884. The Peoples Party had it 1892-1904. The Communist Party had it 1928-2936. Those are the only third Parties that had that presence in presidential elections for as long as three presidential elections.
