I just hope it doesn’t split the vote too much and the communist wins. Wyoming cannot go communist.
In 2022 the Wyoming Republican gubernatorial nominee got 74.1% of the vote.
This isn’t 2022. The bias in a midterm, particularly during any president’s second term at least in recent decades, is generally in favor of the major party that opposes the president to make gains. This year, the demon rats have increasingly taken to the tactic of throwing their money and support in Republican leaning states to nominal independence and minor party candidates who try to pass themselves off as centrist or conservative rather than their own candidates who then either withdraw or run skeleton campaigns if any at all beyond appearing on the ballot.
They calculate that their brand is too toxic to win head to head in their own label in those states, but they do have a nontrivial minority of support base in those states.
So what they are banking on is getting enough votes in some states for “moderate, independent” candidates that they can’t get for their own from voters who wouldn’t vote demon rat labelled as such for those candidates to actually win and then function essentially as demon rats by caucusing with them and voting with them when it actually matters.
In other states they hope to get enough votes that would otherwise mostly go to Republicans for independent or minor party candidates who aren’t going to win to give an otherwise inconceivable victory to demon rats.
Combined with the natural tendency of many Trump supports to stay home when he’s not personally on the ballot, those voters whose support Trump has lost in his second term, neverTrumpers, those who want to punish the congressional white elephants for lack of action (especially failing to pass the SAVE America Act), the typical demon rat cheating turned up to 11, and other factors – their plan starts to make strategic sense logically from their perspective.
Even where it doesn’t work, it will draw pro Republican resources to places that they would normally take for granted and thus weaken their ability to contest other states that would normally or otherwise be battleground or reach goals fur them.
That kind of money doesn’t usually gravitate to minor party nonpresidential campaigns.
Particularly in a state with the population of Wyoming.
So the question is how much of it is coming from out of state, dark money, and or people who aren’t likely to be constitution party supporters, such as those who have a history of voting in Demon Rat primaries or caucuses, donating to demon rat and leftist candidates, parties and causes, supporting neverTrump rhino Republicans and their causes such as the Linked to Pedophile “Lincoln project,” etc.
Real Facts is correct.
Before you dismiss this as typical major party supporters whining, consider how you might be being used. And consider where the concern comes from.
I’ve been voting in presidential elections since 1972, and volunteering for them since 1964. I’ve voted for and supported minor party / independent / write in presidential candidates mor often than not.
I’ve supported many of their other candidates – American, American Independence, Independent, Libertarian, Reform, US Taxpayers / Constitution, Southern Party – at all levels.
I’ve supported the party organizations themselves at times, attended and votes in their nomination conventions, voted in their privately organized mail primaries, and so on, over the course of six decades.
I’m quite open to the possibility of supporting them in the future. I considered it as recently as 2021.
So, its not reflexive partisanism.
Real Facts,
I would add that kind of money doesn’t materialize at that population level, except VERY rarely, unless there is polling behind it and a solid strategy. The polling is not always public.
Regarding the spambot prattle about “free economy”, much of that “free” economy was based on tariffs collected from the slave economy, manufacturing based on slave economy products which wouldn’t have been competitive with global competitors without those tariffs, and a not undignificant portion was based on the slave trade, even after it became illegal, for example shipping and related industries. Among other things such as indentured servitude, injun slavery, and so on.
A disproportionate number of USA troops and officers always came from Southern states in every ear before and after the uncivil war of illegal Yankee aggression.
Several slave states fought on the union side, along with states that had at that point only recently outlawed slavery.
Abolitionists included rabid White nationalists who didn’t want any negroes, slave or free, in new states, or in any states. They included many who supported involuntary mass remigrarion of negroes to Africa, which would have certainly killed more of them than the importation of slaves as there would have been no economic interest in their safe arrival there, in addition to placing them in an ancestral continent haphazardly where they weren’t equipped to survive and where wars, slavery, starvation, tribal genocide, and even cannibalistic practices remained, and still remain, common, in addition to colonial practices by Europeans for more than another century.
Other cynical abolitionists included those who sought to use freed negroes to suppress the wages and work .conditions of all workingmen.
And not nearly all union supporters were abolitionists. Many were imperialists who supported, benefited from, or were neutral on the issue. These included a not insignificant number of border state slave owners.
