New York City Chooses New Vote-Counting Machines

On January 5, the New York City Board of Elections chose a new vote-counting system to replace the city’s old Shoup mechanical voting machines. From now on, New York city voters will fill out ballots by blackening an oval next to the name of the candidate voted for. The city chose machines manufactured by Election Systems and Software.
