Arizona Bill to Let Legislature Revoke Official Election Returns for President Up Until Inauguration Day

Arizona Representative Shawnna Bolick has introduced HB 2720. Page nine of the bill says “By majority vote, the legislature at any time before the presidential inauguration may revoke the Secretary of State’s certification of a presidential elector’s election.” This is absurd, because the electors vote in mid-December of the presidential year, and Congress counts their votes in the first week of January of the next year.
