Six Candidates for President at Libertarian Convention Qualify to be Nominated

On Saturday, May 23, the virtual Libertarian national convention process determined that six individuals are eligible to be placed in nomination. The six candidates, and the number of tokens each received, are: Jacob Hornberger 218, Jo Jorgensen 193, Vermin Supreme 103, John Monds 95, Jim Gray 89, and Adam Kokesh 58.

Congressman Justin Amash said on May 23 that he is honored that some delegates want to draft him, but that he would not accept the presidential nomination even if the convention were to draft him.

Individuals who did not meet the threshold, but who got at least one vote, are: Arvin Vohra 27, Justin Amash 27, Dan Behrman 18, Sam Robb 14, Kim Huff 11, Sorinne Ardeleanu 9, Spike Cohen 7, Nicholas Sarwark 6, Ken Armstrong 5, Larry Sharpe 4, NOTA 4, Souraya Faas 2, Cherise Norton 2. “NOTA” means “none of the above.” If NOTA were the choice of the convention, the party would have chosen not to run anyone for President.

New York Assemblymember Rebecca Seawright Will Run for Re-Election as an Independent

This article says that Assemblmember Rebecca Seawright, a Democrat, will run for re-election as an independent. She was removed from the Democratic primary ballot by the State Court of Appeals two days ago.

Governor Cuomo has still not said what the petition requirements will be this year for independent candidates, and the nominees of unqualified parties. Earlier he said the start date for petitions, which is in April, is “suspended”, but he as never replaced that start date with any other start date. For now, petitioning is illegal.
