Fifth Circuit Upholds Texas At-Large Elections for Presidential Elector

On February 26, the Fifth Circuit upheld the Texas law that says presidential electors should be chosen at-large. League of United Latin American Citizens v Abbott, 19-50214. There are three similar cases pending against at-large election of electors in other states. This is the first decision in any of those four cases to emerge from a U.S. Court of Appeals. The other cases are in California, South Carolina, and Massachusetts.

New York Presidential Primary Filings

On February 26, the New York State Board of Elections updated its list of presidential primary filings. The deadline is March 2.

So far, these Democrats are on the Democratic primary ballot: Michael Bennet, Joe Biden, Michael Bloomberg, Pete Buttigieg, Tulsi Gabbard, Amy Klobuchar, Deval Patrick, Bernie Sanders, Tom Steyer, Elizabeth Warren, and Andrew Yang.

These Republicans are on: President Donald Trump, Rocky De La Fuente, Joe Walsh, and Bill Weld.

These Libertarians are on: Ken Armstrong, Dan Behrman, Lincoln Chafee, Jacob Hornberger, Adam Kokesh, Sam Robb, and Vermin Supreme.
