Here is a blog post from Friday, February 2 that reviews a recent study by Justin Grimmer and Abhinav Ramaswamy of the Democracy and Polarization Lab at Stanford University that analyses Trump’s various fraud claims about the 2020 presidential election and concludes that they are essentially 100% total bunk.
On February 2, the New Mexico House Judiciary Committee passed HB 19. It makes it a felony for anyone to send the National Archives a certification that a slate of particular presidential electors have been elected, if in fact those candidates have not been elected. In the 2020 election, there were several states in which the Republican candidates for presidential elector sent such certifications, even though the official election returns showed they had been defeated.
The bill is sponsored by Representative Gail Chasey (D-Albuquerque), the Majority Floor Leader.
