On July 20, the Moderate Party of New Jersey filed a lawsuit in the State Appeals Court, asking that the ban on fusion be struck down based on the New Jersey Constitution. Maryland held primaries on July 19. The two-person race for the Republican nomination for Attorney General was won by Michael Peroutka, the 2004 Constitution Party presidential nominee. The vote so far shows him winning 58%-42%.
