The Renco Group, which sued the Workers World Party for defamation, has given up its lawsuit. As noted earlier, the Workers World Party and its newspaper won the first round in October 2006, in a lower court. Renco Group is not appealing that decision. Renco Group owns a steel mill. It had sued the party because the party had reported in its newspaper that the company was mishandling pensions for members of the Steelworkers Union.
