South Carolina Republican Debate Will Include 10 Candidates

The Republican presidential debate set for May 15 in South Carolina will include the same nine Republicans who are debating in Simi Valley, California on May 3. Also the South Carolina debate will include Tom Tancredo. The nine who are in both debates are Sam Brownback, John McCain, Duncan Hunter, Ron Paul, Mitt Romney, Mike Huckabee, Jim Gilmore, Tommy Thompson, and Rudy Giuliani. The South Carolina Republican Party set a 1% poll requirement, and said all 10 satisfied it.

South Carolina Republican Debate Will Include 10 Candidates — No Comments

  1. So the Republicans can have 9 and 10 candidate debates. Just wait until the general election when they avoid debating Libertarians, Greens, and Constitution Party candidates, as well as candidates from any other parties or independents. Then all of a suddenly they will claim that the stage is too crowded if anyone beyond the Republican and the Democrat are in the debates. This is yet another example of major party hypocracy.

  2. Congressman Tom Tancredo participated in the California debate. I was disappointed that he had the same warmongering attitude toward Iran as all the other candidates with the exception of America’s greatest living statesman, Congressman Ron Paul of Texas.
The debate format was fundamentally flawed. The reporters should be removed. Each candidate should be allotted so many minutes to speak about himself or his opponents or to ask or answer questions from them.
If there are any other questions, they should be unscreened from the audience.
