On June 17, supporters of an initiative to have the voters choose the King County, Washington, Elections Director, submitted 74,000 signatures. The initiative would amend the County Charter, and it needs 54,732 valid signatures. The drive was fueled by a perception by some that the incumbent county elections director is biased in favor of the Democratic Party.

And in my ole stomping grounds of North TJ [Chula Vista, California], Citizens For A Better Veterans Home is working with other community groups in San Diego’s ‘South Bay’ to get the City Attorney position elected instead of beholding to the local power elite.
Remember, this is the same group that had police detectives chasing Lake and Snyder around town for no good reason in 2002 and for whom an INCUMBANT City Council Member and Mayer were tossed out of office in November 2006!
