The New Jersey Libertarian Party filed a lawsuit in state court on October 10, complaining about the fact that even though one of its candidates for Assembly, Jason Scheurer, qualified for public funding, the November 2007 ballot will say that his Republican and Democratic opponents are “clean”, whereas the ballot will not say that the Scheurer is “clean”.
Amazing! Why should another candidate from a party which also has a state organization, platform, rules and ballot access, not be called clean? Does this sound like second class? Announcing http://www.understatedpriorities.blogspot.com.
Sorry, link got corrupted; just click my name. Thanks.
This posting is short on detail. What is the reason for the perceived “uncleanliness”?
The ballot was already being designed before the Libertarian had qualified for “clean elections” funding. The county doesn’t want to re-do the ballot, even though the ballots aren’t printed yet.
