Chuck Baldwin Seems to Hint at Support for Roy Moore for Constitution Party Presidential Nomination

Rev. Chuck Baldwin of Florida was the Constitution Party’s vice-presidential nominee in 2004. This letter of his seems to hint that he favors former Alabama Supreme Court Justice Roy Moore for the party’s presidential nomination. Although the letter also favorably mentions Ron Paul and Alan Keyes, the bottom of the letter contains a sole mention of Roy Moore.

Chuck Baldwin Seems to Hint at Support for Roy Moore for Constitution Party Presidential Nomination — No Comments

  1. Moore is solid on just about every issue. Even down to Federalism, nullification, and jury nullification.

He’s even opposed to the War in Iraq.

  2. If Ron Paul will not run Roy Moore would be a great choice. Alan Keyes is far better than McCain, Obama or Clinton but not a 100% match with the majority of the party.

  3. I’ve heard Justice Moore speak and he is quite good. Being a West Pointer who opposes the war on constitutional grounds is good, too. My only concern with Moore is his major claim to fame is beginning to fade from the public memory. He would still be a good nominee for the party.

  4. NewFederalist,

Moore would do more to build the party in the South than any candidate we’ve ever seen.

  5. I’d like to see Robert Smith, the former New Hampshire senator who now lives in Florida, seek the CP nomination.

As for Alan Keyes, he was slaughtered by Obamanation in ’04 and is on the verge of becoming a black Harold Stassen.

  6. BOB SMITH BEST CHOICE FOR THE PARTY. STEVE RANKIN IS CORRECT KEYES IS A BLACK VERSION OF HAROLD STASSEN. 2008 MAY BE THE YEAR FOR A STRONG THIRD PARTY.ROY MOORE IS A GOOD PERSON BUT HE RAN A PITIFUL CAMPAIGN FOR THE GOP NOD FOR GOV. OF ALABAMA.LETS FACE FACTS TIME IS NOT ON THE SIDE OF THIRD PARTIES NEITHER IS MONEY.

  7. Senator John McCain is not a natural born Citizen of the United States as he was not born “in the United States”.

In a number of posts I have presented various parts of the evidence. These sources included the U.S. Constitution which is the supreme law of the land, The Naturalization Act of 1790, The Naturalization Act of 1795, and the Hay-Bunau-Varilla Treaty ratified for the construction and operation of the Panama Canal Zone.

John McCain was born on the sovereign territory of the Republic of Panama to U.S. citizen parents. McCain is a United States citizen due to parentage, not by reason of birth.

The ineligibility of John McCain to serve as president may not prevent his run for the office. However, he cannot hold the office. If he were elected president, legal challenges would be inevitable.

Without an amendment to the Constitution, it is unlikely the Supreme Court of the United States could rule in his favor unless legislating from the bench. The more conservative Republican party has represented the case for separation of powers with a louder voice than the more liberal Democrat party. The sidestepping of this critical issue in the media and by the parties is alarming and may lead to a national crisis in the event of a McCain win in the general election.

The Act in 1790 that changed the definition for natural born citizen to include parentage was reversed in 1795. Since then, it has not been again defined to expand the scope of this constitutional requirement.

  8. I think scottwww is is the wrong thread.

Nonetheless, the issue of McCain is not if he is a citizen or not (he is), but whether he is a natural born citizen (he’s not).

  9. The Constitution Party and its supporters need not worry one bit about whether or not John McCain is a “natural-born citizen,” because if Roy Moore is as potent & awesome as you all think that he is, and if he is the CP candidate, and if his name is on the ballot in states like Florida, New Mexico, and Ohio, then John McCain will never be elected president. Moore will attract more than enough people to his side in the voting booth in those states (who would otherwise have voted for Senator McCain) to enable Barack Obama to be elected president & Ralph Nader to be set free from the albatross of the S-word.

So I say PLEASE do everything within your power to get Roy Moore that nomination.

  10. Unless (1) the ’08 Constitution Party nominee does much better than the ’04 nominee did or (2) the race is incredibly close in those states, I don’t see the CP costing McCain the election.

And if Comrade Nader runs as an independent, and the Greens nominate another candidate, there will be at least two leftists draining votes from Obamanation.

  11. Newfederalist:

On what basis do you say that Roy Moore is against the iraq War? I haven’t heard of him saying so, but if he is, that is an exceedingly good thing.

Anyone know Bob Smith’s position on the war?
