First Ballot Reveals Libertarian Party Divide — No Comments

  1. My count was slightly different

    Bob Barr: 152 (idk how)
    Mary Ruwart: 152
    Wayne Root: 123
    Mike Gravel: 71
    Geo. Phillies: 49
    Steve Kubby: 40
    Mike Jingozian: 23
    Ron Paul (WI): 6
    Christine Smith: 6
    Penn Jillete (WI): 3
    NOTA: 2
    Dan Imperato (WI): 1
    William Colon (WI): 1

Why I have 11 write-ins. I don’t know. Don’t ask about the Kubby and Barr things.

Anyways, the Jillette votes were from PA. Imperato was from Arkansas. Colon was from New Mexico.

Paul got votes from Colorado (3), California (1), Delaware (1), and Maine (1)

feel free to clarify or correct. I’m not entirely sure if I got the name right for the New Mexico vote.

  2. Barr breaks open a big lead, and it looks like the Jingo endorsement for Gravel hasn’t worked yet.

  3. Congradulations:

Bob Barr is just the kind of Christian Conservative this country needs to solve some of the serious proplems this country is facing as we approach the November presidential election.

The other three candidates are not worth a trip to the polls to cast a vote.

  4. A large percentage of Libertarians have given personal time and money in support of Presidential candidate Ron Paul. If he had chosen to run for the top spot on the Libertarian ticket, I believe he would have easily won it. Ron Paul’s Libertarian message of restoring individual freedom and reducing the size of our coercive government has resonated with millions of Americans. His message is and always was, a Libertarian message. He has chosen to fight within the Republican party for change. Libertarians wish him well, but realize that change seldom occurs from “inside”. We have often witnessed Republican leadership slam doors on Ron Paul supporters who were trying to gain access to that party to make needed changes in it’s direction. Those Ron Paul supporters would have been a great asset to the Republican party, but in too many cases they were shunned. I personally welcome all who believe in Liberty and Freedom to explore the Libertarian Party at lp.org. Bob Barr is the Libertarian candidate for President. We do not gather behind him in support of the man, but like Ron Paul’s followers, we gather behind him in support of the Libertarian message.
