FEC May Regain a Quorum by mid-June

Roll Call newsletter of June 11 says that it is somewhat likely that the U.S. Senate will approve new Federal Election Commissioners during the week of June 16-20. That would give the FEC the ability to act, something it has lacked for many months. Thanks to Rick Hasen’s ElectionLawBlog.

  1. Good. And their first matter of business should be to severely sanction John McCain for taking a campaign contribution from Lord Rothschild in England recently, a flagrant violation of U.S. campaign finace law. (Something the campaign finance reform “maverick” should have well known).
