Little-Known Independent Presidential Candidate Likely to Qualify in Ohio

Richard A. Duncan of Aurora, Ohio, has probably successfully petitioned for a spot on the Ohio ballot as an independent presidential candidate. He submitted over 13,000 signatures to meet the 5,000-signature requirement. His vice-presidential candidate is Robert Culbertson. This ticket filed for write-in status in 2004 in Ohio, but was only credited with 17 write-ins. It is believed that Duncan owns and operates a tavern. Thanks to Nathan Stine for this news.

  1. I’ve lived in Ohio all my life and keep up with 3rd party politics and I’ve never heard of this guy. 13,000 signatures is very impressive for an unknown independent.

  2. I say good for him. I have no clue who he is, either, other than what he submitted to some voting information site in Ohio in 2006 about believing in the Bible but respecting the opinions of those “who do not choose to do so” (eminently openminded, especially for a candidate for office). Anyone who is that dedicated and determined to exercising his right to run for office deserves a salute.

  3. I was told I will be on the ballot by the attorney for the elections bureau, yesterday. thanks richard

  4. Good for him- how impressive that someone would be so dedicated to their country that they would make the effort that this gentleman has made.
I believe in this country because of people like Richard Duncan- may we all recognize this great accomplishment- he has my vote!

  5. i get that he has 13,000 signatures but what issues does he support and whats he going to do for America
