What about Barr?
He held his own press conference in the same building.
Well, Barr could have still held his own press conference but he should have stood side by side with Nader, Baldwin and McKinney as Ron Paul invited him too. I think this looks bad for Barr and please understand I have been supporting Barr so far. If Barr keeps disapointing me I will vote for Nader.
It is clear that non-major party citizens have to work together if they want to advance important electoral reform legislation.
If they do not, then it is very unlikely such issues will get any notice. Barr may be worried about burning too many bridges with the GOP after the election or he may simply not be interested in any sort of coalition work on electoral reform issues.
I cannot say I was too impressed with the selection of Barr for the LP nominee. I was not surprised as he probably had the most office holding experience of any of the candidates, but does require a rather ‘sudden’ conversion on certain issues, like electoral reform.
One has to ask why didn’t he push for fair and equitable ballot access while he was in office? Or sought to change the debate rules?

They’ve already been doing that, for years in fact, both through Richard Winger’s organization CFOE and through lawsuits onto which two or more of the various minor parties have signed.
Barr must think he can muster a Perot 92 or Paul 07 type surge come Election Day. Doubtful. If he actually thinks that (which was my takeaway from his press conference today) then he is getting bad advice.
So, why is Ron Paul’s status in LA “disputed”?
