  1. It violates the Colorado Constitution.

Unless the Colorado Supreme Court is a bunch of dishonest hypocrites there is no way they would approve the bill after their decision in Salazar v. Davidson

  2. Jim –

Please give us a reference so that we can check your assertion? Thanks.

  3. Schedule, Section 20

The general assembly shall provide that after the year eighteen hundred and seventy-six the electors of the electoral college shall be chosen by direct vote of the people.

  4. The National Popular Vote Bill violates the US Constitution on two counts.

Number 1, the election of the President is set up in the US Constitution using the Electoral College system to put all states on a more even playing field. This country is not a Democracy, it is a Constitutional Republic. If you don’t know the difference look it up. The President represents the States, not each individual of these United States.

Number 2, States are forbidden by the US Constitution (Article 1, Sectin 10) from entering into any Treaty, Alliance, or Confederation without consent of the Federal Government.

This is just a go-around of the Constitution to change it. If one wants the Electoral College system changed or revolked, then one should do it the proper way. An amendment to the US Constitution. May God help us if this National Popular Vote Bill gets enacted, for this will open the flood gates to do away with the entire Constitution.
