Special Congressional Election in California

Congresswoman Ellen Tauscher, from California’s 10th district, resigned to become an Undersecretary of State on June 26. Governor Arnold Schwarzenegger will soon set the date for the special election to fill that vacancy. Already the Green Party has a member intending to run. He is Jeremy Cloward, an adjunct professor of political science. Here is his web page.

  1. The California Political Bubble continues.
How can candidates Garamendi and DeSaulnier consider running for the US Congress, CA District 10? Our State Government is broken and in the process of shutting down, these two men are no small part of the problem yet they think voters will send them to Washington. This is what happens to career politicians; they get surrounded by a bubble and lose touch with the people they represent. I can’t imagine anybody seriously thinking that these two individuals have done a good job. They represent exactly what is wrong with the State of California. It would be different if these candidates had exercised a leadership role in resolving California’s budget crisis. Instead where are they? Running for a Federal office. Whatever happened to public servants sacrificing and working hard to get a difficult the job done? Their only priority is to get reelected. I hope that you will visit http://www.D10HQ.com to see the many MUCH more qualified candidates seeking this position.

  2. Mary C. McIlroy was a pawn of the ultra-Trotskyite Internationalist Workers Party in their aborted attempt to take over California’s PEACE & FREEDOM PARTY in the late 1980’s. The IWP used massive voter fraud and false candidacies in their attempt to control PFP. Now 21 years later they seem to be reappearing hoping to take advantage of a weakened and increasingly irrelevant California PEACE & FREEDOM PARTY
Hopefully, the short signature gathering window for in-lieu of filing fees will keep McIlroy off the ballot in the upcoming special election to replace Ellen Tauscher in the 10th Congressional district. McIlroy postures as a “revolutionary Irish socialist” but is in reality nothing more than a cadre of the Lumpen Bourgoise who have captured control of her party’s State Central Committee.
