Georgia Politics Blog Covers Georgia Ballot Access Bill

Georgia Politics Unfiltered, a blog for Georgia politics, has this commentary on SB 359, which would make it far easier for a party that is already qualified statewide to be able to also run candidates for district and county office. Thanks to Third Party Daily for the link.

  1. Greetings All,

Senator Shafer’s SB 359 is getting a lot of exposure here in Georgia. It’s been covered and endorsed by Jason Pye, SWGA politics and Bludgeon & Skewer. It’s a remarkable bill for Georgia that would allow the Georgia LP to run candidates for State House and State Senate without petitioning based on the Georgia LP’s past track record of garnering at least 1% of the votes cast in the previous election. It also opens the door for other third parties to gain political body status by operating petition drives that yield 1% of the registered voters in Georgia and allows for a mild form of Fusion to occur.

Kudos to Senator Shafer for introducing this remarkable bill into the Georgia State Senate.
