Twenty Legislative Candidates File in Tea Party Primary in Florida

Twenty candidates filed to run in the Florida Tea Party primary for state legislative races. This story says that some of the candidates are, or have recently been, registered Democrats. The story also quotes Republican Party officials as saying that they suspect the motivations of some of these candidates were to injure Republican nominees.

In 2008, it appears that all five Green Party legislative candidates were not bona fide Greens, but individuals who were motivated to run by Republican political consultants. The lawsuit filed in 2008 to find out who paid the filing fees for these Green Party candidates is still going on. However, in all five districts in 2008 that had Green Party nominees, the vote margin between the two major parties was such that the winner won with an absolute majority of the vote.

  1. Minority rule gerrymanders in ALL 50 States.

The 2 FL legislature gerrymanders are among the evil worst in the 50 States — major computerized stuff to pack and crack the Donkeys — letting the Elephants have minority rule control.

    P.R. and App.V.

  2. The tea party is beating the drums for “less government, less taxes, less regulation” nobody is for any of these, the straw horse effect. Reagan said government is the problem! And lifted usary rate banks could charge. The 90’s republican revolution, less government regulation! And now we have world wide wall street financial disasters. Less regulation oil spilling into the Gulf, peoples lives and businesses ruined. And interest rates on credit cards at 35% and higher, you might as well borrow from the mafia, they might break your legs, but they would heal before your credit rating! Be careful what you vote for, republicans are parroting the same montra. Look for the wolf in sheeps clothing!
