Clues Indicate Lisa Murkowski Will Announce Write-in Bid Tonight — 5 Comments

  1. Murkowski is definitely running as a write-in candidate, as she was influenced by a poll showing that she could win as an independent.

As a write-in candidate, of course, her name won’t appear on the ballot, as it would if she ran as an independent.

  2. What a waste of time on her part. If she was real serious, why couldn’t she persuade the Libertarians to ask their current nominee to step aside (and he or she would if he or she were a real “loyalist”) and allow Ms. Murkowski to have that ballot position?

Or, are the Libertarians there in Alaska about as “unpolitically savvy” as are the AKIP? Somebody, please calm my wits.

  3. Loyalist ??????? Ya meant ‘Royalist’!

    The insiders’ Hall of Shame!

    California’s Grey Davis

    California’s Jerry Brown

    Daughter of former Senator Murkowski

  4. Steve: Yes, I know the ALIP did elect Walter Hickel in 1990. But apparently they don’t have the leadership and politial savvyness they had back then.

They still (as for as I’ve been able to learn) won’t tell why they past up a 2nd great chance to elect a governor this year when they refused to give their nomination to Bill Walker who had ran a strong campaign in the GOP Primary.

If they know something about Walker which is “bad” then they ought to let the public know. Ohterwise, their decision in my opinion was “dumb, dumb, dumb!”
