British House of Commons Passes Bill to Provide for a Referendum Next Year on Instant Runoff Voting — 3 Comments

  1. Current Commons regime — about 20 percent minority rule — due to 3 to 5 larger parties in each gerrymander district.

With IRV if adopted, then about 30 percent minority rule — as in the U.S.A.

Likely political suicide for the Lib Dems in the U.K.

    P.R. and App.V. — even in the U.K.

  2. Its the Liberal Democrats that instited on the referenda as a condition of joining the coalition with the Tories.
