  1. I’m sure MacKay and I have philosophical differences. But I admire the leadership he has exerted with the Independence Party of New York State. The leaders of the Libertarian, Constitution, Green, and other 3rd parties would do well to learn from MacKay.

    Yes, MacKay is becoming a “kingmaker” of sorts. But what is wrong with this if your “kingmaking” is in the correct direction? MacKay wants leaders who are not so much “doctrinnaire, but who will bring “good government” to the people. While even I would find room for academic debate with this approach, MacKay knows, and most people who follow politics with any savvy know, you cannot build a strong political party on a narrow philosophical base. That’s the problem with the Libertarians, the Constitutionalists, and the Greens. It’s got to be with “t’s” crossed and “i’s” dotted a certain way or else.

  2. as soon as the word independent is reclaimed nationwide the kingmaker issue(s) and fusion will be solved — including the role of natural born citizens and legally naturalized citizens

  3. #1 – The current totals before absentee and military votes are counted, that I was able to count are:
    WFP = 136,199 and IP – 135,542.

  4. I would be inclined to beleive the military ballots would favor the Independence Party over the Working Families Party. But I could be surprised.
