North Carolina Ballot Access Bill Introduced in State Senate

On March 3, North Carolina State Senators Andrew Brock (R-Mocksville) and Eleanor Kinnaird (D-Carrboro) introduced SB 225, the same bill to ease ballot access that is also pending in the House as HB 32.

  1. Richard, do you reckon this is going to pass? What do we need to do on ground to ensure that it does pass?

It looks as if the House version of the bill has more momentum behind it, with what hopefully will be the final committee meeting on the bill before it goes to the House floor today, Wednesday,(hopefully). As Kevin has said contacting the Election Law Committee members is very needed right now, to urge them to keep the requirement as close to the current version of the bill as possible. Once the bill leaves committee we will need to start working on support in the House as whole and begin working more in the Senate to prepare for cross over.
