Alabama Ballot Access Bill in Senate Calendar for This Week — 2 Comments

  1. Everyone needs to continue emailing both members of the Alabama Senate as well as the Alabama House, urging support for this bill. The names of all Alabama Legislature members can be obtained by googling up the Alabama Legislature.

I have learned the email address of all members in the House is the member’s first name, with a “.” then the last name, then “@alhouse.org” Senate members are first name, with a “.” then the last name, then “@algov”

I was also told by a spokesperson in the Alabama Senate, that if the bill passes the Senate, it moves on to the House with the same number.

This bill – SB 17 – while lacking many other reforms I would like to see it have, is the best chance we’ve had and probably will have in many years to have an “obtainable” chance at ballot access.

Let’s not let this chance get away from us. Most of the members of the Alabama Legislature are “first termers” and are still sensitive to the voters’ opinions. If we wait until they become “entrenched” our chances for any change become less.

  2. The main telephone number for both the Alabama House of Representatives and the Alabama Senate is:(334) 242-7800. These folks are very pleasant to deal with and will assist you as best they can.
