Political Scientist John E. Seery Publishes Book Advocating that Young Voters be Permitted to Run for Federal Office

Political science Professor John E. Seery, who teaches at Pomona College and who also has just finished a year as a visiting professor at Princeton, has published “Too Young to Run? A Proposal for an Age Amendment to the U.S. Constitution.” The book is published by Penn State Press. He summarizes his argument here in the Huffington Post.

He is the author of three other books, and is age 53.

Just like poor Supreme Court references to Hague decisions, this is another grossly misguided attempt to ruin our Republic at the expense of globalism. “Consider this: The majority of constitutional democracies the world over stipulate that any citizen old enough to vote is eligible (on those grounds, at least) to run for elective office.” – GARBAGE!

    We Americans should NOT CARE what the rest of the world does in their banana republics. 25, 30, and 35 are quite reasonable ages of wisdom for our federal offices. Technically, since we do not have federal elections anyway, the 26th Amendment is not proper. It should be repealed and the states should be able to determine their own voting ages just like they do with drinking and driving ages (but hopefully not at the same time).
