  2. If AE gets on all 50 states (or even 48 or 49) and a credible candidate is nominated the key will be for that candidate to get into the three presidential debates (if the normal happens). And I wonder if the folks who run the debates (only Dems + Reps) attempt to change the criteria for invitation to the debates.

  3. The two major parties almost always find a way to exclude third party POTUS candidates from the debates, so that they can preserve their power grip on America. Hopefully the AE and my LP can change that.

  5. #3… I have been waiting nearly 40 years for the LP to “change that”. It just doesn’t look good. Whatever AE turns out to be is still a bit of a mystery but perhaps if they have Perot-like money they can break down the barriers. If they do I only hope their message is significantly different from the Demorepublicrats and in a direction of smaller government.

  6. @6 remember the LP doesn’t have Perot-style money funds. The AE seems to have some influence on American politics, and if thy nominate a good pair of libertarian, small-government folks for Prez and veep then I might take a look at them. Since they’re already qualified in my Kansas, this will be pretty easy to do. (Ron Paul/Wayne Allyn Root, anyone?)

  7. Anybody here who thinks AE is anything Libertarian is advised to go to their website and fill out their “little” questionnaire. After every question, they tell you how most people answered…a preponderance of big-government tree-hugger types. I suspect Dr. Paul and Mr. Root would say nyet. http://www.americanselect.org/

  8. Maybe Gary Odom should recruit these guys to get the CP on the ballot?

  9. #10 probably because of all of the Californians voting on the website. It’s too early to tell the demographics of AE, though, until the final tally is counted for who the nominees are. And to all if the Wayne Root naysayers, he might not be the best qualified veep, but he’s a heck of a lot better then the donkeys we got right now. Ron Paul for prez, Wayne Root for vice prez would be a great ticket againt the demoplicans.

  10. Richard:

Do you know if they have collected any signatures in Alabama?
